Performer, constructor and researcher on the world’s ethnic flutes. Specialist in the study of the construction of and performance techniques on pre-Columbian aerophones. He has developed the music research project “Sounds of America” (www.sonidosdeamerica.org). Audio-visual producer of a documentary series about American musical instruments (https://www.youtube.com/user/sonidosdeamerica), including the remarkable documentary “Reliving the Ancestral Sounds of Pumapungo” made in the archaeological reserve Pumapungo Museum in the city of Cuenca (Ecuador) in March 2014. In his numerous music productions he plays various, mainly percussion and wind instruments belonging to the traditions of the world’s many ancient cultures. Together with the renowned French flautist Pierre Hamon, he has created the musical project “The Lost Steps”, featuring early flutes, both European (medieval and Baroque) and American (pre-Columbian and colonial). He has toured internationally, promoting ancestral American instruments in such countries as among others: Mexico, Guatemala, Ecuador, Peru, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, England, Spain, Portugal, and France.
