WarsawPhil Orchestra joins Laureates of the 19th Chopin Competition under the baton of Antoni Wit
The Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra is setting off on its 159th concert tour! The tour will run from 22 January to 3 February 2026 and will cover the most important concert halls in Japan and South Korea.
The winners of the 19th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition will take part in these unique events. The tour, organised in cooperation with the renowned Japan Arts agency, is a form of reward for the winners of the Chopin Competition.
The concerts, organised as part of the “Chopin. The Sound of Poland” project, are also a significant presentation of Polish musical culture on the world stage. The performances are very popular with audiences, arousing the enthusiasm of music lovers and strengthening artistic and cultural relations between Poland and Asian countries.
Musicians from the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra and winners of the Chopin Competition will give 9 concerts in 7 cities in Japan, including Kyoto, Osaka and Tokyo, as well as in the South Korean capital, Seoul. The tour programme includes of Fryderyk Chopin's Piano Concertos and selected solo pieces that the pianists presented during the subsequent stages of the Competition.
The Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Antoni Wit, will be accompanied by Eric Lu (1st prize), Kevin Chen (2nd prize), Zitong Wang (3rd prize), Shiori Kuwahara (4th prize), Vincent Ong (5th prize). Solo pieces will also be presented by Piotr Alexewicz (5th prize) and William Yang (6th prize.
The main partner of the tour is the Polish National Foundation, which supports the international promotion of Polish culture and musical heritage.
