Aleksandra Rojek
Started to play the oboe under the tutelage of Tytus Wojnowicz and continued her education with Marzena Jaremko. In 2000, she was awarded a scholarship from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage for outstanding achievements. In 2005, she graduated with distinction from the Academy of Music in Warsaw, where she attended the class of Stanisław Malikowski.
She garnered prizes in many competitions, including 1st Prize in the Polish Audition for Students of Woodwind Instruments in Olsztyn (2000), 3rd Prize in the International Competition of Contemporary Chamber Music in Krakow (2005) and a Yamaha special prize in the Oboe and Bassoon Competition in Łódź (2005). In addition, as a soloist and a member of a wind quintet she participated in competitions in Tokyo, Marseille, Belgrade, Munich (ARD) and other cities. In the years 2004–2005, she was a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra.
For many years, she honed her skills under such oboists as Jean-Louis Capezzali, Jérôme Guichard, Stefan Schilli, Ingo Goritzki, Diethelm Jonas, Jacques Costarini, Roy Carter, Christopher Cowie, Frank de Bruine, Peter Frankenberg, Alfredo Bernardini, and Daniel Lanthier.
The artist has performed extensively both as a soloist and a chamber musician. She has recorded solo and chamber works as well as with works with orchestra. She premiered Paweł Łukaszewski’s Trinity Concerto for Oboe and String Orchestra on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Warsaw Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra. The Concerto was recorded and released on the CD Accord label.
As a soloist, she has appeared alongside the Warsaw and Szczecin Philharmonic Orchestras as well as the Warsaw Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra at the Oskar Kolberg Świętokrzyska Philharmonic.
She collaborates as guest first oboist with such ensembles as the BBC National Orchestra of Wales in Cardiff, the BBC Symphony Orchestra in London, Sinfonia Varsovia, Sinfonietta Cracovia, the Amadeus Chamber Orchestra of Polish Radio, the Polish Radio Orchestra in Warsaw, the Warsaw Chamber Opera, the Hanseatica Chamber Orchestra, and Sinfonia Viva.
In the years 2013–2015, she was a member of the teaching faculty at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music.
Since 2003, she has been oboe soloist at the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra.
