This year our musical theatre is staging a contemporary opera based on one of the most popular works by Hans Christian Andersen, the Danish master of fairy tales and a great lover of the theatre. The Snow Queen is a story about friendship, devotion, and perseverance, of overcoming hardships. The music retraces the journey taken by brave Gerda in search of her friend. Will the heroine manage to stay safe during her many adventures as she makes her
treacherous way to the distant land of the Snow Queen? Who will she meet on her extraordinary quest and will she be the same person at the end of it?
