Zuzanna Nalewajek

Zuzanna Nalewajek graduated from the Chopin University of Music in Warsaw in the class of Izabela Kłosińska. In the years 2018–2023, she was part of the Opera Academy – Young Talents Development Programme at the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera where she studied with Olga Pasiecznik, Eytan Pessen, Matthias Rexroth, Mariusz Kwiecień, Tomasz Konieczny, Veselina Kasarova and Edith Wiens.

She is a laureate of the 12th International Klaudia Taev Competition for Young Opera Singers in Pärnu (first prize), 6th International LiedDuo Competition in Sofia (first prize), 11th International Stanisław Moniuszko Vocal Competition in Warsaw (John Allison award), 19th Ada Sari International Vocal Artistry Competition in Nowy Sącz (special prize) and 10th Veronica Dunne International Singing Competition in Dublin. She has performed in operas by Gioachino Rossini, playing characters such as Isabella in L’italiana in Algeri, Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia, and Angelina in La Cenerentola.

She has also performed the title role in Jules Massenet’s Cendrillon as well as parts in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s operas: Dorabella in Così fan tutte, Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro and Second Lady in Die Zauberflöte, Stephano in Charles Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette, Jadwiga in Stefan Moniuszko’s The Haunted Manor and Hänsel in Engelbert Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel. Recently, she performed solo part in Karol Szymanowski’s Stabat Mater with the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Marin Alsop at Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels. The artist has performed on major Polish stages, such as the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera in Warsaw, Wrocław Opera, Grand Theatre in Poznań, Grand Theatre in Łódź, Polish Royal Opera, as well as during the Baltic Opera Festival, at the Pärnu International Opera Music Festival (Estonia) and at the National Taichung Theater (Taiwan).

Highlights of the 2025/2026 season include participation in revivals of Die Zauberflöte and Roméo et Juliette, as well as her debut in the role of Krystyna in Mieczysław Weinberg’s The Passenger at the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera, the role of Jadwiga in The Haunted Manor at the Wrocław Opera, Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Warsaw Chamber Opera, as well as recitals at the Grand Theatre in Poznań and the Warsaw Philharmonic. In the near future, Zuzanna Nalewajek will also appear as Dorabella in Così fan tutte at the National Taichung Theater.
