Natalia Rubiś
A graduate of the prestigious opera programme at the Yale School of Music in the United States and the Academy of Music in Wrocław (diploma with distinction).
She has recently appeared at the Polish Royal Opera in Warsaw (with the Il Giardino Armonico ensemble under Giovanni Antonini) in the role of Halka – an opera by Stanisław Moniuszko, and at the Grand Teatro del Liceu in Barcelona and the Teatro Real in Madrid in Joseph Haydn’s Orlando paladino. At the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera in Warsaw she performed in Krzysztof Penderecki’s Credo. She has sung many times at festivals such as Chopin and his Europe, Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival. She took part in the world premiere of Yoav Talmi’s Symphony for Soprano and Orchestra, conducted by the composer, and performed solo parts in Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 and Antonín Dvořák’s Te Deum, among others.
She has performed on many philharmonic stages, including Brno, Warsaw, Poznań, Krakow, Szczecin, Łódź, Bydgoszcz, as well as in the Rudolfinum Hall (now the Dvořák Hall) in Prague, the Musikverein in Vienna and the National Forum of Music in Wrocław. As an opera singer, she has sung many roles in works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (Countess, Donna Elvira, Fiordiligi), George Frideric Handel (Almirena, Romilda, Calisto, Merab), Charles Gounod (Marguerite), Henry Purcell (Dido) as well as by Gian Carlo Menotti, Ferenc Lehár, Benjamin Britten and Luigi Cherubini.
Her discography includes recordings for Deutsche Harmonia Mundi, DUX and the Fryderyk Chopin Institute. She has taken part in recordings of operas such as Moniuszko’s Halka and Hrabina, Antonio Salieri’s La fiera di Venezia, Cherubini’s Faniska, Jan Stefani’s The Supposed Miracle or Cracovians and Highlanders, as well as cantata-oratorio works by Moniuszko (Spectres, Nijoła) and Gaetano Donizetti (Messa da Requiem, DVD). With tenor Krystian Krzeszowiak she recorded the album Kochaj mnie. Duety miłosne.
She is the winner of many competitions, including 2nd prize at the Antonina Campi of Miklaszewicz International Vocal Competition in Lublin. She is an ambassador of the Universal Peace Project “Eternal Love”.
