ReedBeat
The Reedbeat reed quintet is made up of five friends who share a passion for chamber music and a desire to create an original ensemble that combines the sounds of five wind instruments in an unconventional way. Their common element is the reed, a small piece of cane used to vibrate the air column inside the instrument.
The ensemble performs music of various styles and eras in a lively and energetic manner. In addition to pieces written for reed quintet, the young performers also have arrangements of works written for other ensembles in their repertoire, including symphony orchestra and string quartet, to which they give a new sound.
In April 2019, Reedbeat became the first reed quintet from Poland to join the Worldwide Reed Quintet Network, a network created by the Calefax Reed Quintet, bringing together the best ensembles of this type from around the world.
