The Four Seasons is a work recognised and admired around the world. This cycle of violin concertos brought immortality to one of the most outstanding representatives of the Baroque era. Antonio Vivaldi, alongside Johann Sebastian Bach and George Frideric Handel, was a musical genius and a star of his times. Known as the ‘Red Priest’, the Venetian composer and violinist wrote a host of excellent works, which we’ll be presenting in this concert. It’ll be quite a treat, as Vivaldi’s works will be performed on copies of period instruments. We’ve also invited an opera singer to perform.
