Mateusz Dubiel
In 2023, Mateusz Dubiel graduated from secondary school in his hometown of Bielsko-Biała, in the piano class of Anna Skarbowska. He is currently studying at the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Krakow under Mirosław Herbowski.
He is the winner of two National Fryderyk Chopin Competitions in Warsaw (2022, 2025) and was participant of the 19th Fryderyk Chopin International Piano Competition in Warsaw in 2025. He is also a prize-winner of several international competitions for young pianists, including Arthur Rubinstein in Memoriam in Bydgoszcz (2021), Jeune Chopin in Lugano, Switzerland (2023) and the Baltic Competition in Gdańsk (2023). He has taken part in masterclasses led by Michel Béroff, Piotr Paleczny, Kevin Kenner, Andrzej Jasiński, Arie Vardi and Angela Hewitt.
He has given recitals in Poland and abroad, including at the Royal Castle in Warsaw, the Fryderyk Chopin Birthplace in Żelazowa Wola, Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music in Lusławice, Cavatina Hall in Bielsko-Biała, Ignacy Jan Paderewski Pomeranian Philharmonic in Bydgoszcz, as well as in Japan, Morocco, the United States, France, Germany, Spain (Majorca) and Lithuania. Mateusz Dubiel took part in the Chopin Marathon organised by Polish Radio Chopin, as well as the Chopin Festival in Duszniki-Zdrój (2024, 2025) and the Chopin Interpretations by Young Pianists Festival in Konin-Żychlin, winning first prize (2022).
The artist is the winner of the Coryphaeus of Polish Music Award in the ‘Discovery of the Year’ category (2025), and the IKAR 2021 award from the Mayor of Bielsko-Biała in the field of culture and the arts. Furthermore, he was a scholarship holder of the National Children’s Fund, the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, and a laureate of the Młoda Polska scholarship programme. He is currently a beneficiary of the Henryk Sztompka Scholarship Fund.
