The Polish Music Scene is a programme of music organised by the National Institute of Music and Dance in collaboration with the Warsaw Philharmonic and financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. We present Polish artists and Polish compositions – particularly works not often performed. We wish to promote the performance of Polish music, inspire musicians to turn to this repertoire and generate interest among audiences in Polish musical output as broadly understood. The programme is open to instrumentalists and singers, soloists and chamber ensembles. The programmes featuring Polish music, selected via a competition, will be performed in the Chamber Music Hall of the Warsaw Philharmonic and at other concert venues around Poland.

Co-organised by the National Institute of Music and Dance as part of the Polish Music Scene programme, financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.

Trio Verto

The ensemble consists of renowned musicians – soloists and chamber musicians – who are involved in artistic activities in many fields on a daily basis: violinist Anna Maria Staśkiewicz, cellist Marcel Markowski and pianist Radosław Kurek. They were brought together by their desire to create together and their passion for performing chamber music. The trio made its debut in 2022 during the Trzy-Czte-ry Music Festival at the Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio of Polish Radio in Warsaw. Their playing is characterised by a unique sound, and the artists themselves have extraordinary charisma and are able to touch the deepest emotional spheres of their listeners.

The musicians have participated in musical events, performing both as soloists and chamber musicians in many countries in Europe, Asia and the Americas, as well as in numerous cities in Poland. They have given concerts at the Malmö Live Konserthus, Gamle Logen Concert Hall in Oslo, Auditorium al Duomo in Florence, Theatro Municipal in São Paulo, Kaisersaal in Frankfurt am Main, Warsaw Philharmonic, Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio of Polish Radio, Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera in Warsaw, NOSPR Hall in Katowice and most philharmonic halls in Poland. The fruit of the artists’ musical encounters are recordings for such labels as GENUIN Classics, Bayerischer Rundfunk, Anagram Records, Sarton and the Fryderyk Chopin Institute.

The members of the ensemble are graduates of the International Menuhin Music Academy in Coppet, the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań, the Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź, and the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk. For many years, they have been associated with the Sinfonia Varsovia orchestra, the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera, and the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz.

The Verto Trio shares its artistic sensibility with the audience by performing the most important masterpieces of world chamber music during carefully planned recitals.
