Anna Fedorova
One of the world’s leading young pianists, from an early age Anna Fedorova showed innate musicality and outstanding technical ability. Her international concert career gained momentum when she was still a child – even then, audiences all over the world were "completely surprised, amazed and even captivated" by the depth of her musical expression. Her performance of Sergei Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor at the Royal Concertgebouw in 2013 became the most-watched classical concert on YouTube (over 34 million views!), and also received high praise from renowned musical authorities.
Anna Fedorova has performed in the most prestigious concert halls in Europe, both Americas and Asia – including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Festival Hall in London, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris, Tonhalle in Zurich, Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City, Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, Tel Aviv Museum of Art, Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, Laeiszhalle in Hamburg and the Centro Cultural de Belém in Lisbon. She has also performed at numerous music festivals.
The pianist is the winner of many international piano competitions (including the International Competition for Young Pianists “Arthur Rubinstein in memoriam” and the Lyon International Piano Competition) and in 2018, she was awarded the Verbier Festival Academy Prize. She has recorded a number of CDs – both of concert and chamber repertoire – which have received great critical acclaim.
A documentary film Rachmaninov Revisited was released in early 2021, featuring the pianist alongside such piano stars as Yefim Bronfman, Mikhail Pletnev, Denis Matsuev, Barry Douglas, Alexander Kobrin and Olga Kern.
Anna Fedorova was born in Kiev. She graduated with honours from the Royal College of Music in London where she studied under Norma Fischer. She also studied at the prestigious Accademia Pianistica in Imola, Italy with Leonid Margarius and at the Mykola Lysenko State Music Lyceum in Kiev with Boris Fedorov.
